Back to it!

Well, after being super sick all week- I finally got out to run again.  I did a nice 2.5 miles at the local college and it felt awesome.  Tomorrow I'll run longer- hopefully around 5 to get back into the swing of training.  As long as I stay healthy, I might just be able to fight through this half coming up.  It's not going to be pretty though. :)

Another quick thing- last weekend I went out running in the park and came up on an elderly man who had fallen and broken his nose.  If you run outside a lot, take a first aid class- not just to help yourself, but in case you come up on someone who needs assistance.  And if you can't help, don't just walk around him- that's just rude!

Marathon Training Week 1

This week has been pretty awful as far as training goes.  I'm getting over a cold with this cough that just won't go away.  It's really hard to run when you're trying not to cough up a lung!

Because I've been feeling under the weather, I've chosen sleep over running a few nights and only run twice this week- both times only around two miles.

This week, I'm planning on running a four days total (3 if I do Crossfit).  I signed up for a 10k next weekend, but I'll probably be dropping down to the 5k unless a miracle happens.  :)

Number 1

Alright, I'm starting a blog.  Weird...

My name is Lindsey and I'm 25 years old.  I teach 5th Grade and absolutely love it.  I just got married to the man of my dreams and things are good.

In March, I'm running the Asheville Marathon with my Dad.  He decided he wanted to run a marathon and that means I get to run it with him.  :)  Training officially starts on October 16th and I'm hoping to update this at least once a week to share how training is going- it's mostly for my own benefit, but if others can benefit from it too- Awesome!

In addition to running, I'll be doing yoga and crossfit- and probably pickup soccer games at recess with my 5th graders.
